It is with eagerness that we here present this Chinese edition of SYSTEMATIC THEOLOGY by Dr. A. H. Strong. The plan has been to provide for students, pastors and Chris- tlan workers the main body and form of this book as originally prepared by Dr. Strong himself at the age of 70 in the year 1906. It has been necessary to omit extensive foot-notes, some of which are very useful, but this omission does not detract from the method and form chosen by Dr. Strong to present his monumental work a work to which Baptist and Evangeli- cals have looked for more than a half-century as a systematic guide and presentation of Biblical doctrine. It is true Dr. Strong reflects in his writings some of the conflicts of his time; many of these conflicts have passed on leaving the emphasis other than where we would place it today. But the same problem would exist were we attempting to write a new 100 work of this nature now.
