Comparing Calvin and Bavinck's Perspectives in A Holistic Unity of the Human Nature of the image of God
This thesis delves into the intriguing anthropology between Calvin and Bavinck. comparing their perspectives on the unity of human nature in the image of God. The crux of their contrast lies in the composition of man, his nature, and the image of God. Calvin's belief that the soul was the primary bearer of the image of God is juxtaposed with Bavinck's view that the whole person is the image of God and, therefore, the image encompasses all men and women, as well as the entirety of humanity. This exploration of the anthroposophical ideas of these two theologians invites us to reflect on our own nature and how we can live in the presence of God in the whole human destiny.
